For argument based on knowledge implies instruction, and there are people whom one cannot instruct - Aristotle
I love 'em. Have to have lots and lots of currants, nice crisp shell.
I used to cycle through Eccles to get to work back in the 1980s, but never saw a single cake.
Sackers - I love 'em too, especially with a cup of coffee.Sam - you must have been cycling so fast you couldn't see all the pedestrians munching them.
Eccles cakes, one of Britains unsung treasures.
I trust that was one Eccles cake each as I would think eight miles on half an Eccles cake would be a bit much even for an Eccles cake.
Thud - I agree - even better than mince pies and available all year.Mac - it was one each but in winter it would be at least two each.
Great minds think alike it is said. At our local Farmers' Market yesterday was a stall with real Eccles cakes. Fuel for the gods. I bought some.
Demetrius - unfortunately our best Eccles cake shop has closed down so I may even have a go at making them myself.
Eccles cakes are a bit crumbly though for hikes.
James - not too bad if you wrap them well and make sure they aren't bounced around while walking. Worth the effort.
