Christmas turkey

I wonder if our insane energy policies will eventually deliver the most embarrassing power cut of all – self-inflicted cuts right in the middle of cooking the Christmas turkey.

Just imagine the outcry caused by a few hundred thousand under-cooked turkeys.

Could it happen as early as 2014 or 2015?  Nobody in the energy policy blockhouse appears to have any idea, least of all Ed “turkey” Davey.

Happy New Year

The "few hundred thousand under-cooked turkeys" would be past the stage of crying out!

Sackers - I picture them as barely singed - but enough to annoy them before the lights go out.

Mac - yes, I've been looking at these ideas for a while, but a bodge based on smart meters will take a while to implement.

Trick's to be elsewhere at the time, with own power.

If there are turkeys to be had after all the power outages at the turkey farms.

It won't happen on Christmas day as all the factories and offices are empty. I would have thought the risk was likley around 8am or 4pm on the first day back at work in January if it coincides with cold weather.

James - yes, I've even been looking at domestic generators.

Demetrius - true.

Woodsy - I agree, it's not a high risk day.
