My five a day

To reach the dietary holy grail of five portions of fruit and veg per day, I tend to count anything of vegetable origin because it makes the accounting simpler. So my five a day for today comprises :-
  1. Coffee
  2. With a tot of rum
  3. Dark chocolate
  4. Dried figs
  5. White wine
Not bad eh? Notice the clever way you can count coffee twice by adding a tot of rum. Two tots don't bump up your five a day any further though. One has to play fair when doing one's bit for the government and dear old Blighty.

Nice one! By coincidence, I was discussing this recently with friends; the general concensus was that a bar of Cadbury's Fruit and Nut was 3 of the 5 accounted for straight off.

Add a glass of wine and a coffee and you're laughing - though I have to say your version does sound appetising too.

M - I agree, a bar of Cadbury's Fruit and Nut is definitely three portions. As for the coffee and white wine, well that's two portions in one breakfast isn't it?

Why not make life simpler and just stick to five shots of rum?

JH - Drambuie is a fine drink for cold evenings.

DD - I think that's cheating, although it certainly makes life simpler.

Gin & tonic makes three in my book with a slice of lime of course

Allison - yes, gin and tonic with lime is certainly three. I suppose sloe gin is three too - if drunk with tonic.
