There are occasions when I feel the need to mimic Terry Thomas, "You/they are a shower, an absolute shower". It never fails to raise a smile, although younger folk may not know the reference.
I wonder what he was like in real life. One of those actors - like Sid James or Eric Sykes - who only ever seemed to be themselves. Either remarkable artistic consistency, or money for old rope.

Andy - it's a pity, but younger folk wouldn't get it at all or would see it as just too old fashioned.
Sam - I have the impression that it was an act, but he would have loved to be the person he acted.
