Hate Signalling

Of course we see more than a dash of hate signalling from Extinction Rebellion but somehow it isn't pointed out by media outfits such as the BBC. Presumably in their world there is hate that is hate and hate that isn't. Are we allowed to hate the distinction though? Probably not, that would be too hateful.

Hate as a virtue makes perfect sense. The ancient virtues included courage and justice, and that's precisely what those muppets disrupting London think they embody. Hating Trump (or whatever) is virtue-signalling come of age.

I especially liked the speaker's point about hate only stopping once it has burned up everything in its path. It is very hard to row back from hate. It means you might have to apologise, and the change of heart makes you look foolish.

Sam - yes it does make perfect sense and is hard to row back from. Of course this is why it should be avoided apart from its distorting effects.

James - they and they seem to have little awareness of what they are.
