Motoring under a blue sky

Wall tile from Coleton Fishacre

What a fine day - too sunny for gardening or even walking so we went for a drive around Derbyshire. Off to Buxton followed by a meandering return journey via Bakewell taking in three coffee stops along the way.

With the top down under a blue sky and copious quantities of sunshine it was easy enough to imagine why motoring caught the imagination.

And once the imagination is caught, we become customers.

As well as the scenery, there is also the marvellous sense of freedom. I vividly remember driving around South Manchester suburbs after I had passed my test - just because I could!

In America, the sense of freedom associated with cars and the open road is actually exciting.

"three coffee stops"

You must have been driving about three inches above the tarmac...

Sam - I've never been there but yes, I imagine the sense of freedom associated with cars and the open road in America is exciting.

Scrobs - it's just enough to avoid the potholes.

James - yes, it's the way to drive if the weather is anything like okay.
