Kim's firework show

I see Kim Jong Un is still trying to cheer us up with his missile circus.

Seoul: North Korea tried and failed to test fire two powerful, new mid-range ballistic missiles on Thursday, ahead of a landmark party congress that opens next week, South Korean media reported.

The Yonhap news agency said the North made a second attempt to fire a Musudan missile in the evening, after a similar test in the early morning ended with the missile plunging to earth.

The Musudan is believed to have an estimated range of anywhere between 2,500 and 4,000 kilometres (1,550 to 2,500 miles). The lower range covers the whole of South Korea and Japan, while the upper range would include US military bases on Guam.

The missile has never been successfully flight-tested.

So that range of between 2,500 and 4,000 kilometres is rather closer to 0 kilometres. It all makes one wonder if there is any such thing as intelligence. Maybe the jury is out on that one but on the whole I think intelligence is one of those myths we cling to with such fondness.

After all, what on earth goes on in a chap like Kim's head? Where does he think he is going? Where does he think he is taking North Korea? Why is he so fat and what is that hairstyle all about? Deep questions I think you'll agree, but not easy ones to answer this side of eternity. Especially the hairstyle.

The haircut is weapons grade on its own.

He typifies the inevitable end point of all socialist states. They start off representing the masses, and end up persecuting them. Be it Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot or Corbyn, the result will always be the same. He's even worse, as in this case the regime has actually lasted three generations.
The Chinese are probably quite happy as things are. He's not much of a threat to anybody except his own people, and it keeps the South Koreans anxious and preoccupied. He's a buffer zone. A reunited Korea would be much more threatening to China. (Reunited countries have a habit of then trying to dominate the whole continent..)
I wouldn't like to be any of the engineers working on this latest version of the missile. Probably worried about a knock on the door late at night. Especially as they've already been given a couple of chances to redeem themselves.
I predict that within the next few years, the people of North Korea will depose the fat bastard, and when the cameras and reporters go into the country, we will weep at what we see has happened there. It'll be like the liberation of the Nazi concentration camps all over again. That's why I can never really laugh at the ugly fucker despite him being ludicrous.
As for why he's so fat, I reckon he has an addiction to something like American Hershey bars. Probably shipped there by the container, labelled "Overseas Aid".

As said, he is a useful buffer and a worry to his friends. Essentially a slightly annoying bug who can be squashed at any time but would leave a mess on the wallpaper.

But just suppose he launched against say Seoul, who if anyone will actually launch into Pyongyang. If t'were done, were best done quickly.

I would imagine his hairstyle was inspired by watching decadent western football matches, where the choice is endless..................

Thud - and copy it at your peril.

Andy - I agree, he's a handy barrier for the Chinese as well as a source of minerals.

Roger - I can't see him launching against Seoul without US reprisals as that would amount to abandoning US policy since the Korean war.

Wiggia - I bet it also makes him seem an inch or so taller.

Derek - his buttons don't seem to work as well as Playstation though.

Demetrius - I think Corbyn is the crazy one.
