Why is parody amusing? I haven't watched a cowboy film for decades but must have enjoyed them as a youngster. I certainly watched the Lone Ranger and one or two John Wayne films.
Even so I find myself smiling at parodies such as this one. The hero's ridiculous costume, his ability to fire a revolver from the hip with millimetre accuracy. It's silly but the genre must have been fun once upon a time.

Marvellous!
'Blazing saddles' anyone?
Oh the memories of Saturday morning pictures, hooray, boo, hooray, boo !
The modern version of Lone Ranger would mean that Tonto would have to go. The main person might be a one legged female sex worker in a super charged wheelchair who might have an assistant being a male who is confused about his sense of identity.
Scrobs - I enjoyed Blazing Saddles - must look up a few scenes on YouTube.
Wiggia - when you always knew the difference between goodies and baddies.
Demetrius - the Lone Ranger would also need regular counselling sessions to reassure him that he is doing the right thing.
