When some misguided soul in the dead of night cruises past my bedroom windows with the bass of his stereo shaking the glass, there is some small consolation in the theory that low-frequency vibration in very close proximity will eventually cause the bowels to loosen dramatically.
It's a tiny glimmer of consolation to hope that this is indeed the case.
Mac - even if it's not true, we may be able to get a meme going. Induced Low Frequency Defecation - something like that. We need some ideas for a good acronym.
What about Sonically Produced Unwanted Defecation Syndrome. As in "Did you hear about Mrs. Jarvis's poor boy? He spent so much time in that customised car of his that he has got that SPUDS thing, and will need to wear a pad from now on"
What was that you said? Recent MRI research suggests that deafness arising from excessive sound causes significant deterioration in the associated neural areas. In later life this may impact on overall neural health.

Sam - SPUDS it is. I just need to knock up an ad for SPUDS pads.

Mac - ah the semi-mythical brown note. I like it as a potential meme.

Demetrius - pardon?
Robin Bailey as Uncle Mort? "I Didn't Know You Cared", Peter Tinniswood?
Demetrius - yes, but I think it was Uncle Staveley. Great writer - I have most of his books.
