Quick reactions

It isn't new but I was recently sent this link to a test from JustPark and haven't tried it before.

It purports to be a very simple test which uses your reaction times to estimate your age. After a few goes it seems to estimate my age as somewhere between 25 and 30 years less than my real age. I'd love to be thrilled with that, but I suspect it either doesn't work or is skewed to please.

Lucky you, apparently I have a choice between Gladstone and Disraeli.

Apparently there is a more sophisticated version which gets you to stop the car, answer a question on whether you voted for Brexit, and then times how long it takes you to get out of a really deep comfy armchair.

On a totally unrelated issue, have you see Scott Adams on climate change science?

Don't think I'd dare try it.

It would appear we are all getting younger, with every go my age came down and I am now barely out of my teens, after three efforts, though I do believe I ran over a lollipop lady during the first effort.

Demetrius - the trick is to stop thinking and just react. Rather like a modern politician.

Sam - I'm in a really deep comfy armchair now and don't intend to leave it for some time.

As for Adam's take on climate science, I think a large number of his readers will be far more clued up than he imagines, both technically and politically. Two years ago I decided to reduce the number of climate posts I write for just that reason. So many people out there have the technical or political nous to pick big holes in it and those who don't are not going to change now.

Only the other day my optician was moaning about climate change and what a crock it is. He took a wider, more geological perspective, pointing out that nothing unusual is going on. He's right - in spite of what Adams says it isn't rocket science.

James - oh go on.

Fly - faster than me - I only managed 35 - 40.

Wiggia - I didn't improve much, just went up and down around a rough mean.
