You will own nothing and be...

Video from the US, but the general trend has been visible for some time.

I am often asked why I still keep my Capri on the road... Because I can! It's mine it's almost infinity repairable. Even though the fuel it’s good for it any more E5 is barely useable and E10 would destroy the carb. I suspect that is intentional though. I can, if need be fit fuel injection. Obviously all this is to push us more off the ( barely useable ) roads. More of the 'green' agenda. I bet my nearly 40 year old Capri has produced less pollution in it's whole life than a single, modern, electric car has by being manufactured. Not to mention slave workers, conflict materials etc...

Tony - if you have the skills to keep it on the road and keep the rust at bay, an old car like your Capri must be a good bet. I saw the new version a few days ago, it's just another electric SUV lump from what I could see.

As a complete contrast, a couple of days ago I saw an immaculate Morris Minor tootling down our road, a convertible very much like my dad's old car, same colour too.

That's another thing, the modern things are universally hideous. There is a proper mini for sale at a garage near us, £5000 though. Looks ok from the outside.

Tony - our neighbour's son restored a proper mini and made a nice job of it. Doesn't drive it much though, possibly because he bought a house to do up and that probably takes all his time.
