I don't really believe in anti-missile missiles, in the sense that (i) their success rate will probably turn out to be much lower than claimed, and (ii) they are so expensive that it's likely that your enemy will find it cheaper to build new missiles than you will to produce anti-missile missiles.

dearieme - yes, from the outside it's impossible to know how much military hardware performance is hype and whether cost makes it worthwhile.

Yet none of them are concerned about our gov't supplying missiles/technology to strike Russia (via ukraine)! Don't poke the bear!

Ian - I agree, supplying missiles and technology never seemed like realpolitik - acting in UK interests only.

Given how fast ballistic missiles travel, any toilet paper shortage will be brief.

decnine - good point, and in the affected area there would be a toilet shortage too.
