Reeves undermined as Starmer poaches her Treasury deputy in No 10 reshuffle
Sir Keir Starmer has hired a string of experienced economists for senior No 10 positions in a move that threatens to undermine Rachel Reeves.
Darren Jones, the former chief secretary to the Treasury, has been moved to a new role as Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister, focused on delivery of the Government’s policy agenda.
Reeves undermined by Starmer eh? He'll have to dig a deep mine to do that.
He'll be digging upwards though, there is that.
Clearly Thieves is going to get the chop and be blamed for everything come October, so she won't need the staff afterwards!
ReplyDeleteDiane Abbott is being considered for the non-job as Chancer...(sic).
Scrobs - looks like it, could Diane Abacus be any worse?
ReplyDeleteFrom my own observations while employed a manager taking over the role of an underperforming sub-manager usually makes things much worse. Snatching greater defeat from the jaws of defeat, as it were.
ReplyDeleteDJ - yes it's a strangely obtuse thing to have done. Perhaps it's only strange if we assume Starmer has a normal person's grasp of these things.
