Actors spend their careers obeying instructions. I suppose they then start to fade and think that they can get some kind of revenge by telling the rest of us non-luvvies how to think. The second word is "off".
I sometimes wonder whether there is another group of actors who think climate change is natural and does not merit panic, that most "refugees" are merely migrants, and that it's best if people earn money and don't rely on the state. This other group of actors, if they exist, just don't get the air-time or maybe they can just draw a functioning line between their job and their private opinions.
Jannie - yes, when they begin to fade it must trigger a reaction of that sort. A new act where they become an institution forever. I'm sure that sends some of them mad.
Sam - I'm sure you are right. We see something similar every now and then when people retire and feel free to say far more than they ever would while employed. Maybe the difference is that actors never quite retire.

"Maybe the difference is that actors never quite retire."
ReplyDeleteHowever, I really wish they would give it a rest.
decnine - so do I. Maybe it's merely the obsession with celebrity reporting but I wish they would get over it.
