Susan Crockford on polar bears





A good, concise summary of why we may ignore polar bear scare stories. 

Incidentally, why are polar bears so fascinating? Their ability to thrive in such severe conditions? I'm not sure but they are fascinating.

    Polar bears? "Pull!" Bang! Remember the little ones fly through the air faster so you have to lead them more.

    Sam - careful that could be bipolarphobic... but now I'm depressed because I've just checked and the term has been used.

    Just a riff on clay pigeon shooting. The bit about leading the targets differently comes from an account I once read about shooting civilians from gunships in Vietnam.
