Recall the people who said the York Minster fire in 1984 was 'God's retribution for the sin of homosexuality and aids.'
There are always those amongst us who think this way about the world as a psychological trait.Tammlynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2481298417819219839.post-8090715911398200632021-07-27T17:19:57.505+01:002021-07-27T17:19:57.505+01:00DJ and Scrobs - yes, lying by omission seems to be...DJ and Scrobs - yes, lying by omission seems to be the favoured approach of the BBC. It allows them to lie without lying, to broadcast crimes, demonstrations and predictions of doom and disaster from a narrow and partial standpoint. That standpoint can always be made to sound responsible afterwards because it wasn't a direct lie.

Even if it was a lie, it originally came from someone outside the BBC and later they may claim to have reported it in good faith.A K Haarthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05897490979828603179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2481298417819219839.post-48554917146122664402021-07-27T12:31:06.128+01:002021-07-27T12:31:06.128+01:00You're absolutely right, DJ! It's the stuff they don't report and which is just as important, being omitted which really p****s me off!Scrobs.https://www.blogger.com/profile/12942449871600526680noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2481298417819219839.post-64367519550533196412021-07-27T11:59:23.280+01:002021-07-27T11:59:23.280+01:00@ Scrobs

Such as the knife attack at Speaker's Corner, quoting the Police advice "I would ask people not to speculate on the motive for the attack until we have established the full facts." Some distant elite deputy executive director of the UN Environment Programme reckons we should do more global environmental stuff. Who would dine well off that?

Plus if decreasing biodiversity and virus epidemics substantially reduce the world population then climate change becomes less pressing - assuming there is a significant anthropogenic component to climate change.

They're going to have to work hard to top this doomcasting. Perhaps 'Aliens attacking Earth through epidemics, reducing biodiversity and climate change'?DiscoveredJoyshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05300239909689336895noreply@blogger.com
