The best we can hope for is enough flexibility to adapt.

Demetrius - mine too and I doubt if it is a coincidence.A K Haarthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05897490979828603179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2481298417819219839.post-1247618843499615822015-05-18T15:33:33.353+01:002015-05-18T15:33:33.353+01:00Endless futilities, more or less it describes my w...Endless futilities, more or less it describes my working life.Demetriushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17198549581667363991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2481298417819219839.post-1810730008269253022015-05-18T06:29:34.430+01:002015-05-18T06:29:34.430+01:00Much stronger local government presumably.

It can give a lot of scope for local madmen to control their "communities" in unacceptable ways. Travellers? Sharia Law? It's not new, it just got swept away on the back of economies of scale that work for multinationals but not for small units.

There is also the case for localism with a requirement that individuals have to live with the decisions made locally. A vested interest which means they suffer or enjoy the outcome.

Dare I also say that local politics should be whip free to the extent that perhaps all councillors etc are independents.

Big isn't great. petem130https://www.blogger.com/profile/15948128258971700269noreply@blogger.com
