Parliament isn't completely pointless - it's there to give the plebs the impression that they have some influence on things. In fact, of course, the real power resides with the various Sir Humphreys, egged on by the Blob, and lightly supervised by various supra-national bodies (EU, ECHR, etc etc). Lightly supervised because they'll never step out of line anyway, and everyone who matters knows that.
Peter - I agree, it's more theatre than serious debating chamber. The immigration issue alone tells us clearly enough that the plebs have no party political influence over the Blob at all.
Due to spam comments and now the UK Online Safety Act, comment moderation is on. Anonymous or impolite comments or comments likely to be flagged by the system are liable to be treated as spam.
