Of great age

An interesting investigation into an obscure snippet of eighteenth century life.

  1. A fascinating little video about an interesting man. A fair chance that much of his journey was done in complete darkness, made worse by foul weather, clouds, which would have completed the darkness. Also the roads, especially in bad weather, would have been atrocious.
Also amazing map crafting by Mr Rock.
    Thank you Mr Haart.

  2. Doonhamer - he may have stopped at inns on the way to dry off by the fire if the weather was bad, but it was quite a feat because as you say the roads would have been atrocious. Although it doesn't say so, he may have taken a couple of pistols with him too, because poor roads weren't all he might have to deal with.

  3. Pistols would be needed more today. Highwaymen weren't on drugs, and didn't have zombie knives.

  4. Sam - and today there would be dodgy dogs with dodgy owners to steer clear of.
