Most people have no more definite idea of liberty than that it consists in being compelled by law to do as they like – Ambrose Bierce

They walk among us
It's sad too. Another way to look at propaganda is the damage it does to the susceptible, those people it tips over the edge. They aren't all useful idiots.
I visited a plumbing supplier last week and nearly b***ered over a trailing flex just inside the door. It was leading to a vacuum cleaner being used by a face-nappy wearing goon. I pointed out that it should have been covered, or some sort of warning sign put up, but he just joked that he'd not killed anyone yet! Hopefully, he'll succumb to the latest variant this winter, and no longer pose any risk the the general public...
Anon - if the goon can't manage a vacuum cleaner lead it might have been better to give him a cordless one. I think I've seen someone wearing a mask while using a cordless vacuum cleaner in a large store. I couldn't see why at the time, but thinking about it further, maybe it's something to do with the dust.
I will be doing the main grocery shopping tomorrow and I know for certain one thing that I will see and that is at least half a dozen idiots wearing masks as they push their trolleys round the store. If I am lucky I will even see some driving their cars in masks. Just how gullible can people be ?
John - I still see one occasionally, but not that many and I haven't seen a masked driver for a while. If the propaganda ramps up there may be more though.

ReplyDeleteIf the vacuum cleaner emits dust, they need to buy a better one.

Peter - it might be H&S caution rather than emitted dust.
ReplyDeleteWaif - ah yes, that's a possibility. Maybe she's also hiding her celebrity identity behind the mask.
