  2. We have little trolleys rather like that near here, delivering groceries from the Co-op to (I suppose) handicapped people.

If any unsupervised children got anywhere near that motorised pole, at best it would find itself on its side like an overturned tortoise, playing its merry tune, quickly finding out how many children it could carry to the road side or how good it is at stopping an express train if a railway was near by. Children can think of other merry japes.

    James - and more than a little batty.

    dearieme - that sounds futuristic. I'm sure they would have problems coping with our crumbling pavements.

    Doonhamer - I can think of a few too. Do they work on the A38 during rush-hour?
