UK's first vertical rocket launch could take place this summer
The first attempt to launch an orbital rocket into space ended in failure this month. While Spaceport Cornwall didn't go the distance, bosses at SaxaVord on the island of Unst hope they can be the ones to make history.Good news - we wouldn't want it to be a horizontal launch. Not good for tourism.
The 19 year old living next door was involved in the Cornish caper.
ReplyDeleteShe herself is a real success story - BTEC in Engineering, worked really hard, got herself a job in a company making satellites rather than going to Uni. She actually did some useful stuff on one, which was being carried by Launcher One. The employees all went in to work at night to watch it together.
Oh well...
Technically, if it was a horizontal launch, it would eventually get into space. It would just take a bit longer
ReplyDeleteSam - good for her in spite of the setback. To my mind that's the kind of thing we should encourage rather than sending far too many young people to university.
