  1. Looks like your local economy is close to it, though.

  2. That's a good deal. I can send myself one this year.

  3. I'm a curmudgeon when it comes to the instruction "Enjoy yourself!" whether it's about StV day, Xmas, my birthday, Hogmanay, or ...

I'm all for enjoying myself ad lib. I suppose this is a rather sentimental notion but I don't care.

A birthday is only a birthday but a spontaneous pleasure is a joy.

  4. Sam - you mean 10p isn't expensive?

Andy - or even two. Worth bragging about then.

dearieme - I agree, there is something tedious about standard enjoyment dates which may not even fall on a convenient day.

  5. AKH " there is something tedious about standard enjoyment dates which may not even fall on a convenient day".

My birthday is on an inconvenient day - 27 December. Everyone busy with Christmas and Boxing day. At least my father managed to be born on Dec 24. I even was able to have my children born on the 19 and 23 Dec.

  6. DAD - must be unusual to have so many December birthdays. My father-in-law's birthday was 27 December which was inconvenient too. Not easy to buy presents for him and two was doubly difficult.
