What's interesting is how the Chinese have learnt from our mistakes, but also ignored a lot of our successes. They have avoided the mass production of large fast expensive status-symbol cars. But individually, they have the safety-consciousness of drunken lemmings.
Anon - China I imagine but maybe they would sell over here too.
Sam - maybe they think safety stifles progress or maybe they just find it boring. I suppose it is rather boring.
Scrobs and Wiggia - the A-bike looks dodgy to me too. I wouldn't use one.
Demetrius - more recently but still a long time ago I had a Ford Escort which didn't work particularly well and was a swine to start in cold damp weather.

ReplyDeleteAround that time I saw one in Camden, the 'driver' was peddaling at the time which I thought made the thing rather pointless, and so it soon proved.
A long time ago I had a 1934 Austin 7. It worked very well, once you got it started.
