ReplyDeleteSome years ago, an ingenious manager of M&S in Truro located the menswear department just inside a nondescript door leading straight from an upper floor of the multi-storey car park.
ReplyDeleteUnsuspecting males of a certain age could thus be ushered in and presented with garments to try on before they realised that the shopping process had begun; the result, if my visits to the shop were anything to go by, was an abundance of conversations very like the one you describe.
