Very nicely done - a remarkably light and subtle touch in that knowing glance at the end. I tend to downplay the "visual" compared to the literary, and disagree with those who like the idea that we are moving towards a more visual form of culture. But this, I like.
Interesting, though, how inventions and creativity in the visual are so obviously a pastiche or compilation of existing things.

Sam - I agree. Much of this visual stuff is sentimental or pretentious cliche, but some of it works, especially if there is a comic aspect.
