Research note


This evening I'm busy working to save the planet by devising a low-carbon, low energy version of toast. I'll probably call it bread.

  2. True story - i was in ASDA recently getting something for my sister, and the lady behind me in the queue was carrying a big box with the picture of a toaster on it, bearing the words "White toaster".

    "What's the point of that then," I asked, "if it only makes white toast? You might as well just eat bread."

    She smiled and didn't call store security. so that counts as a win.

  3. SV - good thinking - I might suggest that in a post. I'll give you the credit though!

    MW - it does count as a win, especially if she stayed in the queue and didn't suddenly "remember" something else she had to buy.
