Like many others, I'm a fan of vintage sci-fi images such as this cover from the delightfully named American pulp sci-fi magazine Startling Stories. They capture something of the innocent excitement offered by sci-fi before it morphed into fantasy.
Of course there was a fair dollop of fantasy in the mix, as this lass in the gold bikini with her hand-held rockets demonstrates.
... and another gold bikini does lead one to wonder about the science, the innocence and especially the fantasy doesn't it? That leads into my main prediction for 2012 - lots more fantasy.
Oh yes, let's have all that again.
