Firing blanks

I see Corbyn's latest wheeze is nuclear submarines with no nuclear warheads.

Jeremy Corbyn has suggested the UK could have Trident submarines without nuclear weapons, a move that would mean disarmament while protecting defence jobs in Scotland and Cumbria.

I suppose it could work if nobody else knows, but he seems to have let the cat out of the bag already. I don't have problem with a politician who opposes nuclear weapons because I'm not so keen on them myself, but I don't know if unilateral nuclear disarmament would be a sound move or not.

The problem is, neither does Corbyn. It's the implied claim that he knows these things in advance which gets up my nose - politicians are too fond of it.

Is the man insane or is someone putting him up to all this?

But they do know, as you have just told them, Mr H!

Doh!

James - I see him as politically immature, but his election is remarkably convenient for those who wish to stamp out any vestiges of national identity.

Michael - curses, we'll have to fall back on cardboard replicas.

Bit like building HSR2 and not allowing any passengers !

I rather hoped some mandarin had the expensive dangerous bits locked up in a stationary cupboard somewhere. Seems to me asking for trouble letting them float around being knocked about by rough matelots, might get broken or the paint scuffed. Now Corby has let the cat out the bag perhaps we could go for a random shuffle - if only I could remember where the key to the cupboard is hidden.

Oops - should be a stationery cupboard (probably a stationary one)

Wiggia - or even trains.

Roger - maybe they lost the key and Corbyn found out. If the deterrent is a dud it may as well be a cheap dud.
