I'd heard that it was boring, and appealed mainly to women. And, do you know, my wife has been looking at similar documents, and trying to get me interested in them.

A friend used to do marriage counselling. Frequently sex was part of the trouble with 'only whores do that' or 'God wouldn't like it (sic)' a common refrain. Certainly the writing is dreadful but if it makes people lighten up a bit then it has done some good.

Sam - go for magnolia because you can touch up marks for years without needing to redecorate. Shabby chic is the look to aim for - very durable.

Roger - crikey, I didn't know it was that bad. A marriage guidance bod could write a fascinating blog if done with a sense of humour.

Perhaps I will get my friend to regale you with his/her tales. Perhaps we could begin with the chap who had a penchant for 'stable relationships'.

One thing is for sure - Larkin was right.

Gosh, Dulux, and I thought it was an advice book on hairdressing for elderly ladies.

Roger - do that, I'll print anything with a whiff of the stable.

Demetrius - no that's DoLocks!
